some fall favorites...

so many things...

but here are a few to share tonight:

the leaves are FALLING, and of course, this makes me a little sad because we'll have to say goodbye very soon. But aren't they just beautiful?

this fall we've started a new format for our small group: a much more fluid approach to fellowship including wine, bread, and good conversation. I love it so much. Instead of feeling drained by having small group at our house, I feel refreshed! Isn't that the way it is supposed to be?

And my new autumn tablecloth....ooohhhh! I am so into it. Can't get over the vibrant colors...

cute little pumpkins from the dollar store. I'm sure some grubby, little hands will get a hold of them soon, but I'm enjoying them right now:)

Daily walks with Parker to go pick up B. from school. Special times.

p.s. that is not my slobber on my collar, just so you know. I believe it was Parker's. So there.

Great post Amy. Joel shared with my your new small group format and I agree - that is how it should be. Wonderful.

Parker looks like such a big boy in this picture! I never would have noticed the slobber...how funny!

Did you take the pictures of those leaves? They are stunning! Yesterday I was doing dishes in the morning and looking out the windows in front of the sink - which frame out a beautiful HUGE maple tree in our neighbor's backyard. The colors are absolutely incredible. So vibrant and the leaves were falling almost like a slow-paced snowfall. It was just... ahhh, beautiful! I stopped just to watch and then went out on the back porch to just listen, and you could hear the light sounds of the leaves hitting the ground and rustling. I was overcome by God's creation and the beauty He gives us to enoy! The only thing that would have been even more ideal, would have been to have the time to sit outside with a great latte and read the Word. BUT, kiddos inside called me back in quickly and it was back to the fun and chaos of life with little ones. Which, also is a wonderful gift to enjoy! :) Just not with the uh, "still" aspect of being outside amidst the colors and the leaves without the busy sounds of life indoors. I was so bummed we didn't get to come last night - I think I will plan on coming next week even if it's just me and the kids. Ken wants to come too, but it has been hard for us to make happen these past 3 weeks. Sorry!!! Love your tablecloth too BTW. Cute pic of you & Parker. Hugs to you and your sweet family... :)
P.S. Can you suggest any fun book titles that your boys have enjoyed? I'm looking to get the kids some new books for Christmas and would love some great ideas, as they have faves already, but new ones are refreshing to read. :)

North Carolina doesn't really believe in fall. Or winter. Or spring really. At least not where I'm living!!

I do miss the Northwest and all the pretty colors this time of year. Thanks for the pics -- makes me a little less homesick!!
