febrile seizure

We had a terrifying moment on Monday...one that seemed to make time stand still. Everyone is okay now...but it has taken us a few days to recover from the experience. This picture was taken on Tuesday. He was still so tired!

Griffin had a febrile seizure while we were at my parent's house. This may sound slightly dramatic, but I really don't want to recount the whole experience at this point! Long story short, he spiked a fever, went into convulsions, turned blue, was unresponsive for a bit and took his first trip in an ambulance to the ER. It was scary. Have I said that already? Seeing Griffin's little face all blue and his body shaking uncontrollably are images I've been trying to forget. It took a couple of days for Joel and I to start feeling more normal and now I feel like we're over the hump...thankfully! Griffin is fine now and back to his feisty ways! I have to admit that I've been a little more protective of him over the past few days--and he may have gotten away with a few more naughty deeds:)

We're so thankful for our sweet Griffin.

Oh Amy, I am so sorry! That had to be horrible. Praise God that everything is ok now!!

I will pray that you can get the scary images out of your mind, and rest in His peace.

This makes me cry! Even though it has been a few days for all of us, it is still really hard to forget how scary those moments were. I told Erik last night that every time I see Griffin now I just want to hold him and hug him and not let him go! I am so thankful that God kept him safe! I love you!

Oh, Amy- I am so glad he's okay! You just go ahead and pamper him- he needs it! (You do, too!)

When Corban was 11 months old, he also had a febrile seizure. We were on the road and I just couldn't keep his fever down (turns out I wasn't giving him enough medicine- I was basing it on age, not weight), and so I nursed him at the hotel, thinking that would comfort him. It did, but it also made him even hotter. So scary as paramedics swarmed our hotel room, but it came down, and he rested well all night.

I know your fear from the other day as well as the continuing fear- give it to Jesus! Love (((you)))!

I'm so sorry you had to go through that. Our pastor and his wife have been going through that with their 2 1/2 year old. He has severe febrile seizures and turned blue after one of this last ones. They have had a lot of testing and they have found nothing wrong but are monitoring him very closely now. Just a side note that they do not vaccinate and avoid medicine at most costs. I hope your little guy never has one again!
